I am Sofia. Our class teacher announced a three-day trip to the capital next month, and everyone in room four talked about costs, rooms, and free time in the museum district. I opened this diary to sort my thoughts before the permission form deadline on Friday.
This morning the teacher said the coach will leave at seven on a Tuesday and return on Thursday evening. She said tickets for the science museum will include a planetarium show if the group will arrive before noon. My friend Lila said she will join if her parents will sign the form tonight.
At lunch we sat in the courtyard and compared prices for snacks and souvenirs. Tomas said street food near the river will cost less than café meals if we will share plates. I said I will bring a reusable bottle because water fountains will appear in most public buildings downtown.
During English class we read a short text about travel safety. The teacher said students will stay in pairs during free hours and phones will stay charged for group messages. I said I will save battery by lowering screen brightness when we will walk between sites.
After school I called my mother at work. She asked if the hotel will provide breakfast and if teachers will check rooms at night. I said the leaflet promises breakfast from seven thirty and two teachers will stay on our floor until ten.
Mom said she will transfer the fee on Saturday if Dad will agree after dinner. I said the science quiz team will travel on the same coach, so I will sit with Lila and revise facts during the journey. Mom laughed and said I will probably talk about stars the whole way there.
In the evening Lila sent a list of places she wants to visit. She said the modern art gallery will open late on Wednesday, and a free concert will start in the park if weather will stay dry. I said I will choose the gallery because the concert will finish too late for teachers' rules.
Before bed I checked my savings jar and counted coins from babysitting jobs in April. I said I will add ten euros for postcards and magnets because gift shops near the museum will sell student discounts with our school badges.
Tomorrow the teacher will collect forms at the door. I will hand mine early if Mom will sign after breakfast. Lila said she will bring coloured pens so we will mark maps together on the coach. Tomas said he will pack light because the hotel lift will stay small and busy.
If everything will go as planned, May will end with a trip I will remember for years. I will see new streets, I will ask questions in museums, and I will return with photos that will make my little brother jealous until his turn will come in two years.
