Moving timeline: for/since (B1)

Last month we signed a lease and collected keys on a rainy Friday. Since that afternoon our life has shifted street by street, box by box.

We have unpacked slowly for three weeks because work has continued normally. The kitchen became usable first, and we have cooked simple meals there since the second evening. Pizza delivery filled gaps on night one.

Our cat hid under the sofa for two days after the move. She has explored the flat cautiously since Sunday, and she has slept on the bedroom chair since midweek. Familiar blankets have helped more than treats.

I met neighbours when the elevator stopped between floors for ten minutes. One couple has lived in the building for seven years, and they have recommended a plumber since our shower pressure looked weak on Saturday.

We registered with a doctor since local rules require it within a month. The receptionist has booked an introductory appointment for next week, and we have listed allergies on forms we downloaded yesterday.

Commuting has changed completely. I walked to the old office in twenty minutes, but now I take a tram I have ridden for ten days since my pass arrived. The journey lasts thirty-five minutes when traffic has been light.

My partner started a hybrid schedule since Monday. She has worked from the spare room for four days, and she has visited the city centre office once since the move. Video calls have filled mornings while boxes still lined the hallway.

Friends visited on Saturday and brought plants we have watered daily since they left. Conversation mixed memories of the old flat with plans we have made for housewarming drinks in November.

Moving has exhausted us, yet routines have emerged quickly. Periods measured with for and starting points marked with since have described both stress and progress. We have not finished settling, but this address has already begun to feel like home.
