When the whistle blew, we won by four points. The victory was sweeter than our draw last season against the same club. Mia said this performance was more complete than any match we played in autumn.
After the game we talked in the changing room. Leo said the gym was hotter than the hall where we train on Thursdays. I said Riverside's fans were more supportive than some crowds we remember from away games.
Our coach reminded us that one win is not the biggest achievement of the year. He said consistent practice is more important than a single good night. Still, we left the gym happier than we arrived, and our bus ride home felt shorter than the journey before the match.
Sport teaches us that improvement is more visible when we compare today with yesterday. Last season we were slower, noisier in panic, and less patient near the end. This time we were better together than we were alone with doubt.
